Collection: Lancashire (south) in 1934

This series of large maps provides a snapshot of the area just before World War II. They are taken from an atlas of South Lancashire published in 1934.

They are very detailed and useful for researchers. They also make interesting wall art, especially in social environments, such as pubs.

These maps give the names of roads, farms, collieries, poor law institutions, railways and stations, parks, recreation grounds, football & cricket grounds, reservoirs, viaducts, aqueducts, etc.

Footpaths are also clearly marked.

Rural buildings including farms and cottages are shown.
