In 1928, Walton on the Hill was a bustling suburb of Liverpool with a rich history and numerous places of interest for visitors to explore. One of the most notable landmarks in the area was the impressive St Mary's Church, which had been built in the early 19th century and was a fine example of Gothic Revival architecture. The church had a tall tower and spire, and its interior featured intricate carvings, stained glass windows, and ornate furnishings.

Another historical place of interest in Walton on the Hill was the Walton Park, which had originally been opened in the mid-19th century as a private estate for a wealthy merchant. It had since been converted into a public park, and its extensive grounds included a lake, gardens, and woodland areas, as well as a number of recreational facilities such as tennis courts and a golf course.

The area was also home to the historic Walton Gaol, which had been in operation since the late 18th century and was one of the oldest prisons in the country. While the gaol was no longer in use by 1928, its imposing brick walls and gatehouse were still standing and served as a reminder of the area's past.

In addition to these landmarks, Walton on the Hill was also home to a number of historic pubs and shops, many of which had been in business for generations. These included the Eagle and Child pub, which had been established in the early 19th century and was a popular gathering place for locals and visitors alike.

Overall, Walton on the Hill was a fascinating area of Liverpool with a wealth of historical landmarks and places of interest to discover. From the Gothic splendor of St Mary's Church to the tranquil beauty of Walton Park, there was something for everyone to enjoy in this vibrant and culturally-rich community.

Whether you're a history buff, a cartography enthusiast, or simply looking for a unique piece of decor for your home or office, this map is sure to delight. It's a piece of history that you can own and enjoy for years to come.
