In 1888, Highbury, Stoke Newington, Canonbury, and Hoxton were all neighborhoods located in the northern part of London. Highbury was considered an affluent neighborhood, with many large houses and villas. Stoke Newington and Canonbury were also relatively affluent, with many large terraced houses and some grand mansions. Hoxton, on the other hand, was a working-class area, with many small houses and overcrowding.

One of the most notable landmarks in the area was Highbury Fields, a large public park that had been created in the mid-19th century. The park included a cricket ground, tennis courts, and a large pond. Another notable landmark was St. Mary's Church in Stoke Newington, which was built in the 16th century and was known for its historic graveyard.

Transport links were provided by Canonbury and Mildmay Park stations, which were both part of the North London Railway, and Essex Road station, which was part of the Great Northern Railway. Hoxton was also served by Hoxton Station on the East London Railway.

The area also had a number of workhouses and prisons, including the City Prison and St. Pancras Workhouse. These institutions served the impoverished and marginalized populations of London, which included many of the residents of Hoxton.

Whether you're a history buff, a cartography enthusiast, or simply looking for a unique piece of decor for your home or office, this map is sure to delight. It's a piece of history that you can own and enjoy for years to come.
