In 1888, Kensington, Knightsbridge, West Brompton, Chelsea, and Earl's Court were some of the most affluent and desirable neighborhoods in London. These areas were home to wealthy merchants, aristocrats, and members of the royal family. Many of the elegant Georgian and Victorian homes still stand today, showcasing the grandeur of the era.

Kensington Road was the main thoroughfare connecting these neighborhoods, lined with upscale shops, restaurants, and private clubs. Cromwell Road and Queens Gate were also popular destinations for the wealthy, boasting grand mansions and ornate gardens.

Kensington Workhouse and Westminster Workhouse, located in the area, served as a reminder of the vast economic inequality in Victorian London. The St. Georges Hanover Square Union Workhouse & Infirmary and Chelsea Workhouse also provided relief for the destitute.

The Horticultural Society Gardens and Natural History Museum were popular attractions for both locals and visitors. The West London & Westminster Cemetery was the final resting place for many prominent figures of the time.

Whether you're a history buff, a cartography enthusiast, or simply looking for a unique piece of decor for your home or office, this map is sure to delight. It's a piece of history that you can own and enjoy for years to come.
