St. Luke's Old Street and the surrounding areas of The City and City Road are steeped in history dating back centuries. Finsbury Square, located just south of Old Street, was a fashionable address for the upper-middle class in the 18th and early 19th centuries. The area around City Road was a hub for industries such as printing, furniture-making, and distilling.

One of the notable landmarks in the area is St. Luke's Workhouse, which was established in the mid-18th century to provide relief for the poor. Wenlock Basin and City Road Basin, both located along the Regent's Canal, were important transportation hubs for goods entering and leaving the city. Blackfriars Bridge, Southwark Bridge, and London Bridge were all vital river crossings for both goods and people.

The Tower of London, a historic castle and former royal palace, is located just south of the area, while St. Paul's Cathedral, a magnificent domed church, is located to the south-west. The Bank of England, which has been the UK's central bank since its founding in 1694, is located to the south-east.

Finsbury Circus, a public park in the heart of the City, was a popular destination for the upper class and features a beautiful circular garden and a bandstand.

Whether you're a history buff, a cartography enthusiast, or simply looking for a unique piece of decor for your home or office, this map is sure to delight. It's a piece of history that you can own and enjoy for years to come.
